Friday cat: I'm coming through

And you better get out of my way.

Nervous Nellie's

Nervous Nellie's, who serve great Swedish toast and strong coffee, has moved to the corner of NW 56th St and 17th Ave NW. Check her out!

He's making taffy?

Boob Pa Pa

What is it about accordions that makes the girls want to take off their shirts and play?

Friday cat: Afloat on a sea of grass

She loves me, she loves me not

It might take all week to resolve that question in this daisy patch.

Grass implants

Over at the new house they went for grass implants, the horticultural equivalent of hair implants and about as weird looking.

Green roof

No, it's not the Nebraska prairie. It's the roof of the Ballard Library. It's a "green" roof, covered with sod and plants. It filters the rain water and keeps the building cooler. We'd put one atop Ballard Avenue Tower but the roof's too steep. Green roofs work best when they look like the Nebraska prairie, not the Duquesne Incline.

Friday cat: I've had enough of this

When a cat cuts you off you've been cut off but good.

Tree house

Ballard's real estate market is so hot...

Poppies

From the way they strain to reach to the sky, you'd think there wasn't enough sun to go around.

Mt Jeanne

She does love her compost. This year's pile nearly hides the house.

If you need a splash block or a wastebasket, get yourself over to 28th Avenue NW before these are gone!

Friday cat: The 59th St cat

The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin' Groovy)

Slow down you move too fast
You got to make the moment last
Just kickin’ down the cobble stones
Lookin’ for fun and feelin’ groovy

Hello lamp post
What-cha knowin’
I’ve come to watch your flowers growin’
Ain’t-cha got no rhymes for me?
Doot-in Doo-doo
Feelin’ Groovy

Got no deeds to do
No promises to keep
I’m dappled and drowsy and ready to sleep
Let the morning time drop all its petals on me
Life I love you
All is groovy
